Creators Who Are Raising Money for Good Causes

These creators are rolling up their sleeves and getting involved – using the resources they have at hand, as well as their individual skill sets, to raise money for causes they believe in. By using their platform to advocate for social change, they are paving the way for others to do the same. Let’s take a look at how these creators are utilizing Bonfire to help them make a difference.

Olivia Winokur (she/her) – Inclusive Outdoors Campaign

Olivia, a Sacramento, CA based artist, created the Inclusive Outdoors campaign to fundraise for GOALS (Girls’ Outdoor Adventure in Leadership and Science). GOALS aims to transform STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), the outdoors, and society by investing in the professional and personal development of women and girls, inclusive of all transgender, cisgender, genderqueer, and nonbinary folks who identify with womanhood and girlhood, who are scientists, outdoors-people, and social change leaders. Olivia’s colorful design for this campaign features women of different sizes, abilities, ethnicities, etc. all enjoying the outdoors!

Areej Khan (she/her) – Say Gay Okay Campaign

Areej created the Say Gay Okay Bonfire campaign in response to the “Don’t Say Gay” bill that was passed by the Florida Senate on March 8th, 2022. This bill bans “classroom discussion about sexual orientation or gender identity in primary schools”. Areej believes in creating safe spaces for LGBTQ+ youth to explore and express their identities in schools. All proceeds raised from this campaign will go directly to Equality Florida Institute and will work to combat this bill. The bold and bright font used in the design for this campaign was created by Type With Pride in honor of Gilbert Baker, the activist and artist who was the creator of the iconic Rainbow Flag.

Andrew lives full-time out of his home-built expedition vehicle with his dog, Kicker. They go everywhere together, including TONS of state and national parks. Andrew created his Littering Is for Losers campaign to spread the word about the amount of litter and trash that is being left behind in campsites everywhere. All proceeds raised go directly to Leave No Trace, an organization that is dedicated to providing innovative education, skills, research, and science to help people care for the outdoors. Andrew is a firm believer in the saying, “Pick it up. Pack it out.” and hopes to preserve these incredible natural resources for generations to come. The design for this campaign features Andrew and Kicker out exploring and experiencing nature together – as they love to do.
